Keith [Mallard] - any luck getting those bits on?

The crank is coming back out of the block on Friday. I'm sick and tired of parts, and other peoples work that will be ok. What ever happened to something being right on, or at least close. This engine is turning into a sore subject. I'm glad I'm building it myself or it would have been built with tolorances that are all over the board.

I know what you are going through.
Many years ago, one of the rebuilds on the flathead in my Willys (Ford at the time, V-8), I paid to have the crank done and balanced.
Put it all together, PlastiGage was at the limits of resonableness, but it had to go together NOW (work).

Roughest, lowest oil pressure V-8 I ever had.
6 months later, I had a weekend free, yanked it out, pulled th BALANCED crank, checked bearing size, went through my "stuff" and found another crank same size journals, cleaned is and just slapped it in.
Oil pressure where it should be and SMOOTH as glass.
Went another HARD 175K before I did a Merc version in 3/4 race for it.

Morons.
