KC-135

Quite an improvement over this wing-walker method! The fuel is transferred in a can strapped to a man's back as he moves from the Lincoln Standard to the Curtiss Jenny - but it worked!

Finally in 1927, a hose was used. Progress moves at a snail's pace.
 
We get to see the soon-to-be-retired KC-135's overhead almost daily here.

Hard to believe I got to shoot photos of and from them as part of an essay back in the early '70's.
