During the off-season, some of us get antsy.

So today we are going indoor karting (with mostly NASA friends) at Pole Position in Jersey City. Should be fun.

Next month we'll go to GPNY in Mt. Kisco for more indoor karting.

Any of you guys do this?

There's an indoor karting place here on Long Island that our Triumph club rents out for a few hours at least once a year, more if we can get enough guys together. Tons of fun. :driving:
 
OK, most of the other guys were in their 30s (or less).
I am SORE......but it was fun.

The first video below was shot yesterday from a camera lashed up in my top pocket(I couldn't wear my own helmet with cam-mount because I forgot to bring the face shield). So the cam position is crappy. But you get the idea.

The second video below was done in Feb 2011 with my race club (VRG) and the Ferrari Owner's Club. We're doing that event again on Feb 11 2012. Anyone can join us. For more info Click Here

I was in Richmond at the end of October for a soccer match. A bunch of my referee buddies decided to try karting. It was my first time and I had lots of fun but I was a bad boy!
I kept trying to pass my buddy who was in first place. He never gave me an inch to pass. I decided to try a different tact.... when I got inches from the back end of his kart I loosened the straps on the safety belt, and was able to stretch my arm out just enough to reach the KILL SWITCH on his kart.
He had a WTF look on his face when I went racing by him.
We all had a good laugh that night at dinner.
