Hi gents! I have to be in Kansas City for the next couple of days on business with a client, and I of course know that the city is famous for steaks and BBQ. I'd love recommendations on what folks think is the best of each.

Thanks!

B.

Never been there, but, from a magazine article entitled,America's best BBQ

Kansas City: Arthur Bryant's
KC's "king of ribs" has hosted everyone from Harry Truman to Jack Nicholson, but has never grown too big for its britches. Guests chow down in the original cafeteria-style dining room, choosing from the grub that has made Bryant's famous—most memorably the pork rib sandwiches lathered in the restaurant's signature sauce: a thin, red-orange vinegar concoction with a sharp, spicy finish, whipped up from a closely guarded recipe. Arthur Bryant's has expanded with two additional Kansas City–area locations—make sure to visit the original Brooklyn Avenue spot. 1727 Brooklyn Ave., 816/231-1123, rib sandwich $10.

I recommend the burnt end sandwich at Arthur Bryants.

Been there had one...wish I lived closer...

Haven't been there for a while but the Plaza III (in the Country Club Plaza) was outstanding last time(s) I was there.

:iagree:
Bein born an bred in KC gotta agree if on KCMO side definitely Bryant's for BBQ....or if across the river on KCK side Wyandot BBQ...
for steaks the OLD Hereford House...they have several locations now but the original located down in the old stock yards was my favorite....have fun..
