Kabash up-date??

What's the status up there? Did the wheel come off? Is the car running? Or is he still walking a lot? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Re: Kabash up-date??

Last I heard, Ryan Reis (from MGBE and Nebraska) was heading back up there this weekend to help him again.

Re: Kabash up-date??

Now he's into alarm systems...don't think that lttle MG will see the road anytime soon - sad!

Re: Kabash up-date??

If you didn't notice Tony, He is also inquiring about the location of an engine which is for sale on the MGBE trader forum.
How many does he need?

Re: Kabash up-date??

...and I'm just trying to collect unrelated project cars! LOL. Hopefully he'll get on the right track soon. Give him a few years. I'm 33 and still haven't gotten all my priorities straight yet... But I'm workin on them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Re: Kabash up-date??

LOL, not really. I was just cooped up last week - nothing going on at work, and home by myself most of my off days. I'm sure by next month, I'll go back down the top posters list.
I guess if I had been wrenching (off days only) as much as I've been typing, my toyota would be back on the road by now. Sucks to work in the rain/cold though.

Re: Kabash up-date??

I got the rear end back up under the GRM car today...& finally got the heat pump fixed...1 guy out Thurs, 2 on Fri, another today!

Re: Kabash up-date??

Took 'em 3 days to fix mine too when it died 2 months ago. $350 for them to replace a busted breaker and fuse holder. I think I may fix it next time. The parts were only $100 of that, and I watched him replace the stuff. I did harder work yesterday changing the driver's side brake hose while sitting in mud- and that only took 10 miutes.

Re: Kabash up-date??

I spent today and will spend tomorrow loading up all of those parts i bought into a old school bus and building shelves to put them on.

Try putting 10 B trannies into the 4 foot high back door of a school bus. OUCH.

My back is still crying for mercy! LOL

Re: Kabash up-date??

No, he is going back to last year, before he blew the motor up, or whatever happened to it. No one is 100% sure I don't think. He only drove it a week or so and somone played with it at his school.
The car is far from being road worthy as he keeps taking parts off of it and not concentrating on geting the replacement motor running.

Re: Kabash up-date??

He'll lose interest soon & somebody up in Iowa will end up with a good parts car! & its nothing I haven't told him over the phone - if he doesn't focus on getting it running, its dead!

Re: Kabash up-date??

Let me try to see if I have this story straight: he has a '77 with a '67 (3 main?) engine and a Stromberg? I'm not entirely clear on what killed his old motor, except that he said that it threw a rod (what was he doing to make it throw a rod?)

Now, he's buying an alarm and a wheel for a car that doesn't even run; nobody gonna steal or drive a car in that state. Too many gaps in this story to keep up with.

think of it like a story done in the spirit of "Pulp Fiction"... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

You forgot the part about him taking off the master cylinder when everyone told him NOT TO. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Re: Kabash up-date??

Wha??? Why would he pull the MC? I wouldn't go pulling that unless I needed a rebuild; even then, I'd wait until the rebuilt exchange unit was there waiting on me before I pulled the old. I hope he didn't spill brake fluid everywhere...

I don't think I'd try rebuilding the MC unless I kept the old one and just wanted to do it for the fun of it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.
