K&N filters for HD8 carbs

Hello GBPatterson, I'd say that would work it all depends what you want it to look like. Whether you want it to look something like the original style or not.

I tried those many years ago,car(BJ7) ran very poorly. Also ran hot-rods on dyno w/low profile filters,caused poor drivability& loss of horse power.On some V-8's gained 30 hp just removing air cleaner assembly. cheers Genos2
 
Hi Geno,
Are you referring to the chrome 2"ers? They do seem restrictive in the photo now that I look at them again. When I made mine I think I came up with needing 51 square inches of filter.
 
Hi Greg, yes I,m referring to 2"ers. Weiand used to make some 1/2 moon w/chrome mounting plates-washable foam elements that were very efficient. not sure if their still available. Genos2
