GT6 K+N Filter Fitting

Hi guys...

So, I bought a pair of K+N filters for my MK3 GT6. When I took the old air filter housing off, it has those long bolts that go through to the carb. However, when I wanted to fit the new K+Ns there are no holes on the outer service of the new filters to slide the long bolts through the carb, only holes on the backplate, and I can't use the long bolts. Have I made an error in buying the wrong filters? Or do I just need to get some shorter bolts?

From your description it sounds like the outer filter covers have no holes. I've got K&N's on my GT6 and you can see in the photo that those long bolts are used to attach them. If yours are different...and it sounds like they are, you will need to use shorter bolts
