For all those hours I've done and re-done to get things exactly like I want them.. watching and listening to this makes it all worthwhile:

TR6 Joyride

This was taken on a 3-4 mile stretch of road near my home in NC. I still need to work on the placement of the mic since it still picks up too much wind noise, but for a first time it's not bad. The uncompressed version (way to big to post on the web) has flawless video and audio, but still too much wind noise. The audio in the version above has a couple of skips in it, so please pardon my inexperience.
 
It sounds a bit meaner than it actually is... the mic was about 12 inches above the exhaust and getting battered pretty hard by the wind. But the tone of the exhaust came out real well especially when I had the throttle in it.

To try and get the distortion out you can try to either back the mic away from the source alittle and/or if there in a mic input level adjustment, tweek that down alittle. Maybe try a wind guard on the mic too.

I have the mic ran through the trunk and out the back (outside the trunk about an inch), so I'm not sure how much more I can back the mic away. Any more back, say taped onto the trunk lid, and I would think that I would introduce even more wind noise.

What does a wind guard look like? The mic that I'm using already has foam on it. Here's what I'm using:

I'm not sure that I have an audio input adjustment, but I'll check.

It's my own creation actually.. since I've owned the car it's gone through several iterations to get to where it is now. It was either too loud, not giving the sound that I was after or didn't look the way I wanted.

I guess this is my stainless version of the Ansa exhaust:

I'm also running TRF's two piece stainless headers.

Your foam will act as a wind guard... Actually, I heard more distortion than wind. <u>Generally</u> speaking, make sure you're plugged into the MIC line, (if you have one). Is that an actual mic, or does it give a line output. Does the mic need battery power? Some need a 48V power supply, depending on the mic, and application. You might try placing the mic above the license plate, a touch further away from the exhaust, and out of wind's way. Obviously, you have no problem getting a good level thru that mic...

Your video reminded me a ride I was given yesterday, in a new 300+HP Mustang. (Sounds like you drove it better!). Thanks for sharing!

It does sound more like distortion than wind noise. Exhaust like you and I have Shannon, on the engines that we have, is quite a bit louder than stock, as you know. Just for kicks, try one with the mic inside the passenger compartment. Down out of the wind somewhere. SHould still pick up the exhaust without a problem. Possibly replicating what you hear from the seats. OK, Shannon, it's official. I'm asking for specs for the exhaust. Especially those two forward mufflers that I feel are needed to keep these systems drivable without getting a "Harley" headache.

And I can make the Harley headache comment. I had two of them and loved the sound. For about the first hour, then it started getting old.
