Just went for a drive in the BE in NJ-Wahoo

It rained this week so the salt is gone, and it was only 28 degrees so --off came the car cover, a little starter fluid in the carb...and off we went (top up - no windows, heavy jacket gloves and hat)

I was thrilled the battery was still charged enough to start the car - we've had some very cold weather. Not sure why it wouldn't start w/o start fluid - but start up it did.

Went for a nice hour drive on good curvy roads. Car felt very strong and smooth. Good to to this - gets the appreciation for the hobby revving strong again. Can't wait to start rebuilding the new 1275 motor and redoing the engine compartment. Needs to get warmer for that.

To more good times....(makes up for some of the 'lesser good times')

We've had a few days like that, post rains to wash off the salt. Tunebug's in pieces now, so no drives for me. Glad you got out, though, that's what it's all about.

I'm jealous, but good for you. I started my project to do during the winter, but forgot I'm not much for working on the car in a cold garage. But is coming along and when it warms a litle more, I'll be out also.

Bugsy got out for a short drive on Friday in Dayton. Sunny, 38 degrees, streets dry but still some salt on thiem, avoid any puddles, just get out and drive. It took a jump to get him going but he fired up after probably 8-9 turns of the key. He had not been started in 2+ months and I was pleased at how well he ran. All parts and pieces are functional and battery seems back up to snuff once again. Come on Spring, crappy and 40's today but rain and snow later and rest of week. Bugsy is back and under cover waiting for the next opportunity to get out and play.
