Actually While I was looking for a car to build for my wife I came across that Bugzuki site. Then instead of shopping for a Mini or a Sunbeam, I decided to do a Bugeye. I happened upon a car and the rest you see here.

I paid $ 200.00 for a low milage Swift motor and $ 100.00 for the Samurai transmission. I couldn't buy a 1275 for the cost of the Swift and the transmission together.

I had a friend who put a Ford ZTech in a Bugeye, switch it to Webers and had a crankfire ignition on it.

Lil update photo for ya.

The intake I'm using is the stock ram horn design. The curves were hooking down. I cut off the flange and flipped the intake over. Just have to have the flange welded back on and I have a stock fuel injection intake.

Hap, did you check the above posts? I'm keeping the fuel injection. I think it looks trick. No more carb problems.

Is your Samuri transmission a 5-spd? If so, can you post some pics? I wonder if it can be modded to bolt up to a 1275 or 1500.

Yes, it's a 5 speed. The link above to the Bugzuki site has some cool overlay photos of the 948 with trans and the swift with trans. I don't have a real good picture of the transmission but I'll take one when I pull the assmebly out. I think it could work.

Hi all,

Just finally getting caught up here after working 7 days a week for 9 months straight... I am back working on the Shealey. I'll post some update pics soon!
