...from the 'Semi-Annual Obligatory In-laws Trek.' Would like to have made it in the MG but my procrastination at spending money has us rattling down in Diesela again. Oh well. The upside is the Benz has a big trunk in case we get large prezzies. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Our trek is from Maryland to The Villages, in Florida. Thought about trailering the 100-6 down, the only problem is I don't have a trailer. Maybe next year we'll drive it! I just don't want to do it on interstate 95. Sounds like a long trip down highway 17, kinda along the coast for the southern leg. Hmmm, should probably start around Thanksgiving. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We used to zoom down to South Wales from Scotland (410 miles) and back again a few days later. But we don't do that any more- too much hassle and aggravation (along the way, not just there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif) and a more leisurely trip during the summer has become an acceptable (despite the moaning) substitute....

Christmas in our own home, snug and warm with a nice, wee dram and a happy sleeping dog; and the chance to go out in the garage a play mechanic once in a while....

Yeah! A leasurely run, play "tourist"! 'specially on the Florida parts. "Alligator Wrestling", "Dinosaur" exhibits... all the usual nonsense. Photos of the Healey with all those settings as a background! A "travel log" of sorts.

This year, for the first time since we got married (4.5 years ago) , we're doing the extended-family day at our place. In-laws and brother-in-law are coming to us. Good folks. Maybe I can convince my father-in-law that a good Christmas day activity is pulling a Midget motor. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We could post a picture a day - the healey with the gators, the healey with the space shuttle, the healey with the mouse - healey with palm trees, the healey in Miami Beach, the healey in Key West, maybe - perhaps even - the healey with Miss Agatha!

Yup-yup!!! I think it would be a great bit of fun! If you swing thru Jack's area and get a Miss Agatha photo, there's no sense in not travelin' the rest of the way down to Tampa and line up with the two or three of us BCF'ers here, too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Staying home and whenever/whatever I unwrap, I'll be running out to play innagarage. Then, I need to grown up & cook a meal for family 7 guests.

Leave right after Thanksgiving, leisurly trip down the sky line drive, turn left somewhere in the Carolinas, get to highway 17 along the ocean, down through Charleston and Savannah, hit Florida and over to pics with Miss Agatha, down to the Villages for the holidays, over to Tampa (about 1 1/2 hours) for more pics with BCF cars - Maybe members all along the way could meet with us for a picture to post - I'm starting to really like this idea! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Bring it on. Miss Agatha loves photo ops.

OK, this is going to require some work over the next 6 or 7 months. Convincing the wife of what a great idea this is, convincing the cat and puppy that they can meet us in Florida (our daughter would drive down with them later), back to convincing my wife that she really likes this idea, and convincing my work that 2 or 3 weeks isn't really that long. Also, finding as many BCF cars a possible along the way to takes pictures with to post. No doubt, the star will be the ultimate quest, the photo op with Miss Agatha. Kind of a Beauty and the Beast picture. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wow, not sure I deserve that kind of talk.

No, no, no - Jack, Miss Agatha is the beauty, my 100-6 is the beast. (not you!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Swap ya?

6 hours of Mazda steering to see Lin's family.
Then home.

Then 2.5 more hours of roadwork to see my folks.
Then home on Xmas day to have The Kids over.

Next day, off the see Lin's Twin and her husband (fortunatly, he doesn't look anything like me, or it could get real confusing).

Then off to my brother's place for a few days.
Then home.

Then on 12/29, an hours drive to a place for a big county-line dancing party for my younger daughter(she's turning 30).

Then off to visit friends for New Years and we'll check out First Night Morristown (Lin used to be one of the directors of this).
Then home.

Then RELAX.

Maybe for a week or two!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif Don't forget, I've got the "Bugeye in a field" that we were talking about around a month ago. Hopefully by then she'll be close to running. We'll see how it goes, I could only hope she ends up as good looking as Miss Agatha.
