a couple of those spacers that go under the drivers seat. Went down to the yacht repair shop and got a bit of the plastic they use for fixing etc. Is solid and will not rot etc. Easy to work and was free. Comes in 4X8 sheets so I just got a scrap from the trash bin. One more job in the tank.
 
Nothing to see Fred, I just been messing a bit. Waiting on carbs now, and will be out of town till about the 23rd when I expect to make some real progress.
 
What you used Jack is commonly called "starboard" and is actually a PVC product just like the plumbing pipe material and is the perfect stuff for what you are doing (seat-rail spacers, right?). I have also used it for the seat "pans" on my car (which were completely rusted!!) The same material can be picked up from sign shops (they use it for weather-proof sign blanks) and can be had in thicknesses from .125" (1/8") through 13mm (1/2") and even thicker! Usable sized scraps can usually be found in sign shop dumpsters!
If anybody cannot find it and wants to try some, let me know, I get plenty of scraps of it!!
