Just got a text from another former co-worker that the guy who hired me at SAIC after I retired from the Air Force (AFOTEC) died last week. John Brothers, en ex-Vietnam Buff pilot, was a great guy with a "wise acre" sense of humor. His Obit reads, in part: "John Brothers, age 85, beloved father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, uncle, friend, and resident wise a$$ passed away March 11, 2026. John was known for his sense of humor, intelligence, mediocre blackjack skills, and philanthropy."

Sadly, I hadn't talked to John in quite a while and was just telling another friend and co-worker literally a few days ago that I needed to give John a call and see how he's doing. I'm sorry waited too long.

Condolences.

Sorry to hear. The world needs wise a$$es with the wits to know they are being one! Humor combined with humility is powerful.

Sounds like you're fortunate that you knew him.
Hopefully at his memorial service people will tell
some humorous stories.
