Just had this *URGE*....

Careful Steve, It's not the kind of "thing" you're thinkin'
We're just pickin on him.
Doc dosen't think much of French cars.

hehehe Le Wreck - The new prewrecked car from Renault... It's economical and the insurance rates are low, sheetmetal available from anywhere dirt cheap. 0 to 60 in about 4.5 minutes... 3.5 if you get the front wheel to stop wobbling /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Banjo - ours was like yours except for the side stripes we had....a bus ran over the front of ours on a trip to Washington, D.C.!!

looks like a Mini with square headlights. Love the ragtop.

Geo Metro had a 3 cylinder too.

Doc,

I've got a great idea. Why don't you send me the drivetrain (+ you pay the shipping).
I'll put it in my '60 Anglia.
Don't worry,I'll let you know how much fun it is.
It's got to be faster than the stock 997cc that's in there now.Of course,it's the "High Performance" 41 HP engine, not the wimpy 39 HP one!

I grew up on Carcraft and Hot Rod Magazines. The only Anglia's I've ever seen (in print only) had BB american engines in them. I had no idea they were 1 litre 4 bangers to start with.

Ya learn sumptin new every day!

I also saw a LeCar auto-x when they were new.
I was looking for a car to run in SCCA SSC.
After watching it go around the corners, scraping the door handles off,I decided that didn't seem to be an option.
The also had the Renault Challange, with LeCars.
A friend told me that eventually, they all had dents in the roof - from rolling over.

Or,how about a Renault Alliance -
- A French car built by Americans - in Wisconson!
Doomed to failure from the beginning.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Ok, so maybe they need some stiffer springs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Anybody ever drive one of the TURBOcharged three cylinder Sprints? The little thing would lite up its tires without missing a beat. Total hoot to drive. The Daihatsu Charade (manual trans) was another three cylinder. It was actually a very good car. I used to "play" rally driver in one. I also taught my stepdad about handbrake turns in it. My mom still hasn't forgiven me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

REE-no is off th' list, and it'd need to be a 'period piece' in my mind... still hung on the Escort Mexico, but an Anglia... hmm... Gonna pass on Doug's ~generous~ offer and sniff about for a 105E Anglia. Now that Harry Potter has driven the price up it may not be so easy, tho.

LeCar... Leeker... watched one Auto-X back when. Every time it came to a right turn it'd lift the inside rear and backfire... good "comic relief".

Talking of Renaults - did anyone see the 5 Turbo on Ebay. (I'll post the link below). Making it look like that was the only way they could find to get it to go around corners.

Doc - as to the 105E. I love the idea. I thought mine was a great car. Liked it better than most of the stuff I've had since - it had character, yeah that's the word - character...

I think if it could be done, I'd have a bit of a "hood bulge" to accomodate the bump-stick cover at the front. Only those who know the cars well would notice tho. And mebbe a ricer-like tailpipe... too bad Stebro isn't available anymore. THAT was a DUMP-TUBE! And a "boom-box" stereo blarin' Amboy Dukes' "Journey to the Center.." at stoplights...

"Honey, I'm gonna go out for a bit in the Anglia."--Trollin' fer RICERS!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif that'd be funny... have a "power bulge" on the hood... subtle, humorous, useful... and a lot less obnoxious than the hood scoops on a lot of ricer cars....

"It's definitely sucking!"

"You get an "F"!"

heheh
