I really, really want to build one of those...

That guy in the VW commercials... Didn't he play in the movie Fargo?

Yes, he's been in a bunch of stuff. My fav role of his was the crazy cosmonaut in Armageddon.

"american parts... russian parts... All made in taiwan!" <slams a big wrench against the part until it starts up again>

Best part of that movie!

I just like that sick little smile of his with quivering lips just before he pushes the "depimp" button

"oh snap!"

First build my and my partner did was a 2000 cc Datsun in a Morris Minor. When we got it running we went down to the local crusin spot and played with the big boys. We had four people in the car and still ran from stop ligt to stop light better than anyone. Had to quit for the night when the fourth person got a ticket and we were told to got home by the police.

hmmmm... i can think of a couple cars that wore Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth badges from the early 80's that could work as a donor.... Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon... or the Colt... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Omnis and Horizons ought to be easy enough to find... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Not sure 'bout the Colt though

oh yeah... an added benefit of the above mentioned cars... even "Ricers" have a tendancy to turn their noses up at them... so giving them a taste of defeat is all the more better... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

olt...bought Jerri one of those - she loved it! 'course she also loved the LeCar I got her once

Carrol Shelby did the dodge one's already... The Omni GLH and GLHS. Guess what GLH stands for?

A hotrod chevette would be pretty cool too.

GLH - Goes Like heck

Now there ya go! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

And it's French, right up docs alley.

Hey, I know where there's one of those for sale - & unbelieveably the body doesn't need anything except paint, interior is super - motor's locked up...but the guy only wants $800 for it.

My parents had a LeCar when I was little. I loved it. It had a sliding canvas top like the old beetles. It was a neat little bomb
Here's a Before and after.
That's a 3 year old "Me" in front in the first pic. It's labled "December 31 1979" Musta been a nice day!
Nice pants, huh?

And here's the same car in the late 80s after a brush with a guard rail. Bon Voyage!
