Just checking about spark plugs.

I've only recently got my Mark 1 BT7 Healey.

Maybe someone could advise me about spark plugs.

The original recommended ones were Champion UN 12Y. These are not made anymore.

The ones that have been recommended as a replacement are N 12Y; although when I went to the motor factors today, he said they had been replaced by N 12YC.

The ones that are at present in the car are N9 YC.

Which plugs do you think are the correct ones? N9s or N 12s? Or does it make that much difference?

The N9 is one heat range colder than the N12. If you are doing spirited driving & the present N9 plugs do not foul, it's probably a good replacement.

The NGK equivalent to N12 would be BP5. Equivalent to N9 would be BP6.
