Ah yeah, looks real nice Kenny. But to tell you the truth, I'd rather have the open wheel one on the left. I just love open race cars. Brings back childhood memories.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif Probably for less or close too!!! Ps: Doesn't anyone see a little too much "Japanese/BMW" influence in the look of that new one??? Nice paint color though!!!

You know what Mike, you have a good point there, but I think the major problem designers have today for individuality in a performance car is, their all designed in a wind tunnel for aerodynamics and they can't stray to far from the stable or loose what they have tried to achieve. Thus their all going to look alike, to a point. Little things like lighting, wheels, a vent here and there will give a small amount of personality to the car, but the body design will be very close to each other and I don't think there is any way around it. Look at all the formula cars. If they were all painted the same color and had the same number, it would almost be impossible to tell them apart.

Would that ALSO possibly be a by-product of why they call 'em "Formula" cars?!?! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

There are sooo many possible shapes we've not scratched the surface YET, IMO. The "old" Alfa is a great example. Drag coefficient is waay low on that. It's the concessions to production what're limiting what we see as design 'improvement' today. It still has to have ~some~ sale-ability affordable to the audience in order to be produced. The "jellybean" shape is a proven winner, so we see more of 'em. An example of the "sincerest form of flattery" as far as I can tell.

Personally, I can't wait to buy myself an electric car that'll do 200MPH. Something about driving a car @ 200MPH while it tazes me seems appealing lately... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Just as a point of interest on styling, I remembered these old drawings I penned about 30-35 years ago! Ahead of my time??

interesting.... #2 reminds me of a late 80's early 90's Ford Probe for some reason, and #1 reminds me of a cross between the Maser Coupe, and the Maser Saloon... err... Sedan. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
