Miss Agatha got max points for interior. Isn't that a blast, no way I would have figured but then I know every bad/week spot.

Next month is the Vero Beach show, maybe I;ll wake my Midget up and go. The car has been resting comfortably since Midget 50.

Jack, is the Smiths clock an option on your car, or did you add it. Looks nice.

Really looks great. I'm doing my 61 3000 mk. 2 in those colours. I have Moss leather seat kits in red/white piping and red interior to install as well. THAT DASH LOOKS WONDERFUL! What exterior finish paint did you use?
 
Paint is OLD ENGLISH WHITE by Nanson. Just happened to be what my painter used.

Very seldom do I ever take the keys out of Miss Agatha. Heck almost no one knows how to start her. Who ever heard of pulling a knob on the dash.
 
Yes it is, maybe 6 or 8 coats of color and the same of clear coat with lots of sanding and buffing.

Under that it had lots of skim coats of filler, most of which ended up on the floor and a two part primer for starters on a clean body, sand blasted.

Was a lot of labor but worth it.
 
Sure looks good from here and from the response you get at the shows it must look fab in person. Thanx again. --elrey I'm using a 2 part primer Transtar euro classic in white. Then I'm thinking Limco single stage finish in O.E.W. Haven't bought the finish yet. Still pondering. California is a tough place to find solvent based paints.
 
Old English White has a bit of cream in it. Makes it look like you could dive in.

Your BE and mine are similar....except you have the classy clock. In my last Concours, a real one with judges...I replaced all the fun stuff, steering wheel and gearshift knob, with the original stuff. Have you found that is necessary? I got third place, only because the 1956 M/B SL was move out of our class!

I'll be taking my MK III Midget to a couple of great regional car shows in the next two weekends. She's a former show winner and not bad looking at all.

BUT . . . . I <span style="font-weight: bold">HATE</span> IT when Bugeyes like Jack's show up in my class!!! My Midget (or any Midget) has NO chance at all of winning in shows where Bugeyes are grouped in teh same class as MG Midgets! :cryin: :madder: :cry:

Bugeyes have the "cute" factor going with crowd judging (especially the ladies). MG Midgets are <span style="text-decoration: underline">dead meat</span> when one like Jack's is in the same class.

But, I still love Bugeyes . . . :yesnod:
 
When I used to take my Midget to car shows it only won against a Bugeye one time. And that was because it was a popular vote show and the owner of the Bugeye was a real jerk.
 
Here is my clock secret.

Tony gave me an MGB clock, seems they all have em.

I took an old BE oil gauge that no longer worked and transplanted the ring to the clock.

Clocks were a dealer installed item so you can mount em where you wish.

Sneaky, yep. Always wanted a clock in my BE and Miss Agatha says it keeps perfect time as well.
