ARRRGGGHHHH!!!! Barely a year old and the alternator poops out on me... Live and learn I s'pose.

If I had a dollar for everytime I've had to re-do something on this car....

Thanks for the offer, but I've got too many electrical upgrades for the old alternator. I actually do still have the original unit for what good it'll do me.

would only consider lucas or gm alternators.if i remember correctly, think steve downing uses gm.he is linked from my blog. best of luck.

I'm using a Bosch unit; the fit is perfect and until now has performed flawlessly. As it's been discussed here before, a rebuilt alternator (or anything for that matter) is only as good as the parts used to refurb it, at least if it breaks now, I've got a lifetime warranty to replace it.

Shannon, As discussed before, and a great idea as it is. Take the bad alt. to a local repair place and have them rebuild it with good quality parts. This way it is not a crap shoot on the supplier and they should warranty it .

I actually tried.. There is only one shop in the 2 hour radius of Greensboro... and it's over an hour away from my house. The Autozone is 3 minutes. Ease and convenience won out this time.
