juice to fuel pump.

I just purchased a 61 MGA, my first British car. (Up to now its been VW) The electric fuel pump would run when I turned on the key, then shut off when the pressure filled, but never start back up again. I could only run the car for a minute.
I hadn't found this great site yet so instead of asking for help I bought a new pump from Victoria British.

I hooked up the wires like I think they were before. A red wire and a green wire on the top post and the +ground wire from the side of the pump base to the car frame. Turn the key and no juice to the pump. All other electrical is working OK.

I've only found two fuses and they are on the fire wall inside the engine compartment, above the engine. Is there another location I should be checking for fuses?
Does it sound like I hooked up the new pump correctly?
 
Depends on which specific pump that you bought a number of things could be in question.
Your car was positive ground from the factory and may/maynot be that now.
Do you know which battery terminal goes to ground?
Some fuel pumps sold today must be hooked up correctly (unlike the original ones)so that would be my first check (battery polarity).
Next you need a test light to see if you do indeed have power at the pump.
There should be two wires at the pump, one power and one ground- the power hooks up to the back end of the pump (original was a screw-on lug, later types were push-on connectors) and the ground goes from a screw on the side to ground.
It is very possible that when you changed the pump you may have disconnected the ground and not reconnected it properly, be sure that it goes from the pump to a ground that is not isolated by the rubber mount (if you have such).

Check that power is getting there, "ground" is really "ground" and that the polarity is correct and you should be in business.
