To keep your hands warm in winter while you you're pushing it!

I've had my Spitfire for 11 years now and have never had to push it home. (Whenever it has broken down I've been lucky enough to have someone nearby who could tow me home.)
NB. It hasn't got a rear screen heater anyway.
