John was in a terrible accident Sunday in Dallas. Top Fuel Coupe got a cone thrown up under the back of the car by another driver and hit the wall at about 250 mph. Broken left ankle, severly sprained right wrist and cuts and bruses. Was in sergery for four hours having pins put in both. Will miss the rest of the season. Get well soon Superman (14 time FC champion). There are videos of the crash on nhra.com on the right under videos. Bad looking wreck.

Our thoughts are with John. Big drag racing fan from way back. Remember the biggies from the past.

At least it's good to hear that he survived.
I've been told that he grew up around here (McKinleyville,-
Ca),but haven't seen anything in writing.
He seems to be a real character.

Doug, according to Wikipedia, he was born and raised in Bell Gardens, near Downey.
I've always been a John Force fan, even though I'm not a drag race fan, per se.
Wishing him a speedy recovery.

He's had a heck of a year. With Eric Medlin being killed in testing at the beginning of the season, a spotty running car and several red-lights, the only bright spot has been his daughter Ashley's developing skill in driving her FC. She left yesterday's race to be with her dad in the hospital.

He's starting physical therapy but he's pretty beat up and will miss the rest of the season. The other driver was Kenny Bernstein and he's okay.

I'll be looking for him in the pits on November 3rd in Pomona, CA.

Ashley's had a heck of a year...

Here's a picture of my nephew, Zack, with Ashley. My brother-in-law has a machine shop in the same alley as John Force's "garage".

yep - he went to Bell Gardens High. I grew up in Downey, the next city over. He now lives in Yorba Linda I believe. And I'm now in one of the next city's over.
