Did he, at one time, live in the N.Y area? If he is the same John Farrington, I knew him almost 40 years ago when he was a member of CJA East and then The Jaguar Touring Club.

Jack graduated from West Point & spent a career in the Army...then, he retired to Huntsville, AL.....so, could be!
