I just read an email informing me that John is on life support
at a local hospital.John owns Union Jack,a British car repair shop here.
My GT has been there for a few months,& is sitting outside of the
shop now.I'll probably need to bring it home & store it in the garage.
I also.
I'm torn on this,as I've been frustrated with not being able to drive
the GT,but also have deep sympathy for John's situation.

Didn't know him, but sad to hear. Good British shops are getting harder and harder to find these days.

John was a really nice guy,but very frustrating to deal with at times.
His small shop is crammed full of cars & parts. He'd have to move cars out to
make for the one(s) he needed to work on.No lift. And the alley next to the
building is crammed full of cars.
My GT has been at his shop for months,& he recently parked it outside,
which I was not happy about (when it's at the house,it's always garaged).I'm torn
now that he's passed.I went to his shop not long ago and let him know that I was
not happy that he'd had the GT for so long,& it was running into a lot more money
than I'd ever planned on spending on it.
He tore the engine down,& I don't know if it got put together,or not,& I'm not
sure how I'm going to deal with getting everything back,or who'll be dealing with that.
I also think that I won't know what the bill for repairs is,as John kept mental notes,& wrote
up a bill at the end.

The family is putting out the word that they'll be contacting folks whose cars are in the shop for repairs. Not sure about how/when, but they're aware of the problem.

I've been working with a lot of people who have cars & engines
in the shop,the landlord,& John's cousin,who has a lawyer here in
Roanoke,& is trying to sort things out.I'm still waiting to find out
when we can go into the shop & retrieve our property.
If I can help anyone, please get in contact with me.I'm not getting
paid,just trying to help.

I've passed the basic info along to the Shenandoah Valley British Car Club (Jim Palmer). If anybody comes along with specific questions, can I refer them to you, or just to the landlord/lawyer?

Also: I try not to clutter up Basil's site with links to other forums, but this is probably related to the folks you're working with.
