Keeping politics out of this, but I will say I respected him as a decent, good man who served his country throughout his life. His work with Habitat for Humanity was especially notable.

Great man: humble and a servant to the world. Not many like him; he took his "star-power" as an ex-president and worked hard to make the world a better place for all.
Saw Carter on tv several years ago and he said his last ambition was to eradicate the guinea worm before he died. He almost got it. I think the world was down to 17 cases last year.

And Carter spent his post president years living in a two bedroom home where he'd been before being elected. Most would happily upgrade to a mansion of some sort. Says a lot, along with doing Sunday School every week while able, about a person's values.
