Pretty crazy....

and he's going to do a jet scooter for the wife.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Shouldn't he have a red flag on the end of that engine? It sticks out more than 2' beyond the taillghts - heck, its more than 2' beyond the rear bumper.

OK, that's awesome!

That thing draws 11,000 cfm of air, right behind your head while you're driving. Must be like sitting in front of a tornado in there. I love it, and I love how the state can't figure out what to do with it as far as trying to make it illegal. Only thing I don't like is that he did it on a Beetle, I would have chosen a different platform. Then again, if he was trying to purposely make it low key then I guess he got it right.

I'll bet he doesn't have a problem with folks tailgating. One blast from the afterburner and I'll bet folks will back way off, once all the plastic parts have melted. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Where's the guy get all these jet engines?

Cool

Somebody has been watching alot, sorry a lot of Batman

The original bad-boys of this sort of stuff were the folks at Turbonique, a Florida-based company that did all sorts of crazy stuff.

Here's a page with some good info about Turbonique:
https://www.almar.easynet.be/turbonique.htm

Some of the gas-turbines they used were from aircraft APU units and some were full-size helicopter engines (from LOACHEs).

1000 HP mounted on the rear of a Mustang (sorry about the large picture size....not located on my site)

Here's a tiny 360 HP Turbonique gas-turbine engine mounted on a VW trans. The Turbonique VW "Black Widow" used this and was famous in drag racing in the '60s.

You can get them at airplane graveyards too. Once they are no longer up to snuff for the FAA, they just sit there and rot anyway.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm...we can still modify the butt of my V8 MGB!!! Bodyman told me last night he's finished massaging the trunk lid.

I love it. Until the guy with the V8 Alfa conversion does some more work this is my new favourite...

I see it sitting , but has anyone seen it run with a DRIVER ?
