Jensen Healey Question

You guys are making me begin to lust after a JH!

Tony, I wouldn't recommend one to you. You would have to be supreme masochist. Or get a showroom non driver with other backup cars to take it's place on the road. I worked at dealer in the early 70's that handled Jensens and Jensen Healeys. The DSM on his monthly stop would spend all day lying to the owners who built lists of grievances of their "new" cars.

You appreciate LBC's. So, I advise not to beat yourself up with one. Unfortunately, the Jensen Healey is one that should have stayed in Great Britain. We, seems like, always had one in the shop for MAJOR engine work.

For comparison, the dealer I worked at also sold Fiats. the 124 sport was so much better a car than the JH. One of my coworkers was the younger brother of Elliot Forbes-Robinson, who was very much into road racing also(can't for the life of me remember his first name now). He concurred with the opinion that the 124 made the JH look like a 52 DeSoto in comparison. Course my favorite was the Loti, that we always sold. It was always so much fun to take those on looooong road tests.

Well, I guess that puts the nail in the coffin. I haven't heard anything positive about the car yet other than it has nice lines. If parts cost more for the JH, are harder to find than for an MG and it has less value, why would anyone want to build one? It would probably cost far more than the cars worth. I would at least like to break even. I'll let that one slide.

...sure it is cheaper than acomparable B or TR, but so is a Fiat 124 Spyder or a TR7, which also have more creature comforts and modern design ....
Not sure what creature comforts the 124 or TR7 have over the JH?

No no, equating the JH with the 124 or TR7--they all bring less money than the 60s British cars, but arguably are more modern suspension design, etc.

Tony I know where your Jensen is, been sitting outside under a tarp and hasn't moved in 3 years that I know of. Should be perfect

A lot of good comments, but was anybody paying attention to PC? We are suppose to be "sports car" people. The JH gives more sports car bang for your buck than almost any other LBC. It is not a complex car,and with a few exceptions laid out rather well.If you get a good one, your MG's and TR's will be spending alot more time in storage.
