I may end up next week with one in my driveway to fix a bad valve.
Supposed to show up with a manual.
Not even sure of model or year.
But, it is supposed to have a twin-cam Cosworth?
It's supposed to have a 1973 cc Lotus 907 engine.

I am guessing the new owner has the data wrong.

Any grief in yanking the head?

It ~should~ be a Lotus 907. It was Costin & Duckworth designed.

If you've experience with twin-cam engines it's pretty straightforward. Get it around to TDC and check/mark orientation of the crank & bumpsticks, belt off, unfasten head and yank. The issue will be after the head is disassembled. Valve adjustment is with shims of varying thickness. Maths are involved. :wink:

The valves WILL interfere if the cams are rotated independently, so be aware.

Get a new belt and suggest a new water pump while things are that far apart.

Most *reliable* and knowledgeable parts supplier is Dave Bean, tho there are a number of others somewhat less expensive.

Didn't know if there were hidden bolts, or head bolts UNDER the bumpstix.
Timing belt always, I found they need stainless exhaust valve upgrades and upgraded valve cover gaskets.
Water pump.....timing belt driven?

TOO much experience with DOHC.

But, cannot recall doing one of these.

Once it gets here and I pop the bonnet, I'll prolly say, "Oh, yeah, I've done one of these!".
 
You DO need to remove cams and troughs to get to the head stud nuts. 10 or a dozen bolts per trough. Ten head studs under those.
