to type or to read what I typed.

Eye surgery yesterday but all seems to be going well. I am told it will take a few weeks to be back to normal and such.

However, Hap and all. I did get the new oil pump yesterday. Would you beleive it is excatly the same as the other new one I have. Can't wait to pull the engine now and see what the heck.

I could not get the other one under the oil pump cover can. It seemed to big. No clue as to what the problem is and no clue as th where that rear engine plate came from. but hard to beleive that there were different sizes.

At least I have something to work with now.

The ball bearings were also in the package Hap and I thank you. I will of course try that first as it will be less work. Going to be awile though.

Meanwhile if anyone has any clues as to what the problem with the rear plate cover is I would be more than intrested.

Intresting, can not read fourns, spridget list or computer really. Newspaper is out but for headlines, can not work in garage or yard or read a book. Guess I am stuck with the TV isns't that a bummer.

Must be at least thirty posts I have not looked at, all the good stuff I am missing.

At least I can walk the dog this morning.

Cheers.

Geez, Jack! TAKE IT EASY! Do a lot of *nothing* for a day or two. I went thru retinal surgery and had to eat/sleep/LIVE with my nose pointed at the ground 24/7 for WEEKS... gas bubble in the eye to "iron" the retina back into place as it healed. All because I overdid after the first attempt at reattachment. I've a permanent loss of acuity in that orb now. Go nap more. Wait.
My impatience cost me dearly.

Take it easy man!

Go rent some movies you've been meaning to watch. Another idea is you can change the size of the front on your browser. I think you can do that in the "View" drop down box.

Did not mess with eye balls Doc. Just lower eye lids and the bags under them. Will have to have uppers done maybe this fall as well. Can not do both at same time it seems.

Not hurting just swolen and such, back to DR in an hour or so. All seems well. Is just not my life style.

I know, it's just you seem over-anxious to do stuff that'll put stress on the work done.

I understand the "lifestyle" comment, too. I've two speeds: asleep or full-on. Liken it to a weasel on speed. THAT is what causes secondary problems; hate NOT to be doin' ~something~.

Just CHILL for a bit. Ya likely look like a raccoon with a bad hangover now, anyhoo. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Jack-Glad to hear everything went well yesterday. Please take care of yourself so we can have your presence here for the long term! Today would be a good day to sit back, watch Speed channel, or better yet pop in a Legends of Motorsport video, Grand Prix, or Le Mans.

I'm glad the surgery went well, but you really should give it some time to heal. If you read this, I don't think it is the rear cover. If I recall I had the same problem with the new pump on my 1275. I also seem to remember it only used 3 bolts and not 4. When I complained to Moss, they just said return it. I think I had to grind the corners off the pump mounting bolts. I do remember replacing that pump with a correct 4 bolt version later when I pulled the motor chasing down a rear oil leak. I don't know why they changed the pump body from 4 to 3 bolts unless it is also used on some other application or why it is too big. Surely someone out there is having the same problem.

I'll second the relax comments, Jack. Plenty of time to get back to all the projects when you are feeling better.

Think of it as a temporary retirement from your retirement. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

On the oil pump problem, there is an adaptor plate used to allow the use of different years of oil pump on different A-series motors. I'm using one on the 1275 in the turbo-sprite. Is there any chance that one of these 1/4" thick plates was added to you motor at some point? It would certainly explain the problem...
When you remove the pump, examine the hole closely.

Jack,

REST..REST..REST! All your jobs will be waiting for you.

Really - take it easy. You only have one pair of eyes and it's tought to find parts cars for these puppies. A little rest and time and you'll be back to Miss Agatha in no time.

Jack, if you're running Windows and you feel the need to read forums, go to:

Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Accessibility --> Magnifier

It will zoom into whatever part the screen you put your cursor over and one click of a button turns it back to normal. Better than straining those eyes! Take care,

Mark

Thats a good idea, will check closely but the block was even boiled. not sure it would of stayed in there. but will check. Thanks.
