Dave, that's not nice. You know the Great Lakes never get warm enough to get wet in. I stepped into Superior in July and like to froze to death. Tony, don't do it til I get all my parts ordered.

Erie is the shallowest of the bunch. It gets all the way to 72*~75*F by late August. IIRC, the deepest part is just less than 100 feet. That's why it's so treacherous to sail on. Crossed it in an 18' sailboat when I was 18. Put in at Longpoint, too. Took a bit over 24 hours.
DAVE!! We used to watch London's TV station as kids... It had a call sign back then. :smirk:
Channel 10 on the dial "CFPL"
Funny though, we used to watch "WICU" Erie Penn.
Lived here in the land of tobacco trees all my life and spent countless hours on Long Point Bay, bass fishing.
I live in Tillsonburg which is a little less than halfway from the Point to London.
And, yes Darwin , the lakes are cold, but isn't that the reason we swim so fast up here?
Doc, if I am on the right track about "Ghoulardi" then here is a name you'll probably remember - Chilly Billy Cardille! I haven't thought about that name in forever!

Maybe Doc doesn't, but I sure remember Chilly Billy and Chiller Theater, and staying up late to watch it.
Here's another name: Paul Shannon's Adventuretime, The Twirloscope, and Nosmo King. And sending letters to Santa Claus via rocket ship to the north pole at the end of the program.
Chilly Billy was before my time but my kids found replays of him and his "terminal Stare" and they love his show. Iron City is not a bad beer, (admittly not great), IC lite is good. Straub dark is my new favorite, even better than Yuengling. I love driving my TR8 to presque isle in the summer
