i am trying to find out the exact date that my jaguar was manufactured, not for any weird reason, but i am trying to import it back to australia from the uk and the official red tap needs the exact date, the vin plate tells me nothing and my documents only mention first registration .

with BMW and triumph their records are reasonable acurate but i currently have not been able to find something easy to access online and free the jaguar
i thought some one may have already visited a site where this is possible .

thanks Steve
i have sent off a quick letter and will wait fro the quotation on the certificate
you are right that at least a certificate should keep the red tape makers happy.

Hopefully at any rate! What kind of Jag do you have? Must be something special to make it worth shipping back and forth from Australia! Just curious. In any event, come back and visit with us on the forum again, this is quite a source of useful/useless information. Good luck with the beaurocrats mate!

Greetings,
If you go to https://www.jag-lovers.org/cert.html?ql there is quite a bit of information as well as a link to Julia Simpson who handles this information out of Coventry. If you are in a rush, you can e-mail her and speed up the process. When I did my 1967s, I had to show them proof of ownership with a title in my name.
The cost for this service is ÂŁ30.00. It gives you the original date of Manufacture as well as perhaps 1st owner and registration mark.

Cheers
