I got a call from a Friend,telling me that another Friend,Dave,has died.
He told me that there's an assortment of XJ6 parts that his ex-Wife wants to
sell off.
I don't know what all's there,until I see them.There may be many more
(other brand) parts also.If anyone's interested, please contact me.
I'll post an ad in the Jag classifieds, when I know more,& have pictures.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Feel free to post the parts in the Classifieds once you have a list.

Just talked to his ex-Wife,who told me she'll be selling off his Mercedes -
4-5 of them, all in excellent shape ('60's models).
I haven't got the information about them yet,but I'm supposed to meet
up with her in a couple of weeks.
She'd like to see them go to someone who really wants them - NOT a
dealer.

I really want them - just can't afford them :(

Seriously, sorry for the loss of a friend but thanks for being a good friend.

JP,

Thanks! I also wish that I had the money to buy one of them -
but I've been thinking - what would I really do with a nice car like that?
Mercedes are nice cars, but not what I want to own.If they were
$2500 cars,I might be interested,just hate that they're rich people's toys,
& not sports cars,like MG's,etc.

Doug - depending on condition, 1960s Mercedes-Benz family sedans aren't expensive. Daily drivers often sell for $4000 or well below. Not the stretch limousines - but the four or six cylinder "family" cars, like:

There is one for sale minutes walk away - and it has taken every bit of willpower I possess not to go look. (They want about 5k - I saw an ad)

Of course the other part is at least finishing one project before moving to another.

I really like 50s and 60s Mercedes both the four and six cylinder engines are great, the only thing I've noticed about them is they tend to rust.

I OWNED A 1963 220 SEb sedan for a few years. Bought it for $2500 and sold it for $1650. It had started to rust - like the man says. It also did not have power steering and a 4-speed column shift. I loved the sound of that 6-cylinder fuel-injected engine. The seats were great too.

I had a '64 220SE many years ago until some teenage girl T-boned it. I loved that car.

Went & looked - there's a 380SL,a 500 SEC,& a late XJ6 -
still no pictures.

Was on another website looking at a build thread of a Pagoda with a V8 - gorgeous (and I suspect costly) restomod that made an amazing cross country cruiser. So, went on Kijiji (like Craigslist) I must say you can buy a lot of SL and even more SEC for not a ton of money - at least compared to their original cost - would make a lovely summer long distance cruiser - but, alas.
