What is the verdict on the Jaguar ECVT transmission in the early S-types and XK8s? I presume it is a "continously variable" belt or chain affair that scares me. The concept reminds me of snowmobiles, but I want to be sure I'm understanding it, and that I'm not incorrectly prejudging it.
Any first hand info would be appreciated.
