Had one bolt hole from the rear of the tranny into the tranny main case that was striped out. Alum case.

Checked the hole deapth and found that the bottom 1/4 inch was not threaded. Cleaned it good all the way down.

Used a US thread bolt just the right length and turned it in with thumb pressure on the top and an open end wrench. It took just fine. All tight with a lock washer and such.

Where there is a will there is a way. PDO strikes again, oh wait it's me.

Next time you have a situation like that use a stud and a nut instead of the bolt. That way the questionable threads don't have something turning in them as they take the torque. Should make a little longer life for the stripped-out hole.

Shoot, that's even a better idea, some #1 Locktight as well I guess would help too.
