TR2/3/3A Jacking up a TR-3B

I just bought a new low profile jack and was wondering if I can jack up my car any other place besides the frame. I want to use jack stands and would like to left up the entire front and/or rear end at once so I don't end up with just one jack stand under it at a time.

Thanks.

Paul

Paul, I jack the rear of my 3A by putting the jack under the Diffy. On the front I jacked it up using the front cross member. Course the body isn't on it yet so it may get more complicated after the body is on.

For the front I use the radiator guard.

I use the front cross member... easy to get the saddle centered as the midpoint on there is dictinct.

In the rear I usually use one of the tubular cross members, never had a problem. Can be difficult (with my jack) working the handle when the jack is under the diff -- particularly when I have already raised the front of the car.

I always lift my TR6 using various pieces of stout 2x4 boards between the jack and the frame to distribute the weight and cause less scratching or denting on those thin-walled frames. To get it higher I have a large block (actually 3 pieces of 2x6 wood screwed and glued together to make a block).
