I know that this has been posted before, but for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, there's a good video of the Jabbeke speed run and 50th anniversary on youtube. The first ten minutes is of the actual event in 1953, and the rest of it on the fiftieth anniversary goings on. There's lots of TR's including a TRS and Francochamps. It a full hour long, so sit back and relax with a few Belgian brews! :thirsty:

EDIT: There's a neat scene in there around the 14-15 minute mark when some guy breaks the axle on his TR2 (common problem, yes?) and he's shown stuffing a sandwich in his mouth while a half a dozen other guys are fixing the axle. Right after the last cotter pin is installed late into the night, the owner wiggles the cotter pin to make sure it's on there correctly! All systems go...

Alas, I'm on a slow dial-up so that will have to wait until another day.

BTW -- how is Jabbeke pronounced? Is the J pronounced as a Y as in 'Jungfrau' or 'Jawohl Herr Commandant'?

That's correct...Jabbeke...pronounced Ya becka..It follows German pronounciation rules basically.

Hey, Cool. I wonder if my YouTube grabber still works ... can't wait to get home and try it out.

Thanks, Art!
