Spitfire J Type overdrive

I would like to find out if the J Type overdrive solenoid needs to be adjusted from time to time. I have scanned my Haynes Triumph Spitfire repair manual and have not been able to find anything on this.
I have a 1976 right hand drive spitfire with a single rail overdrive transmission. Any ideas or directions to where I can find this info would be appreciated.

What adjustment? The J-type valve is completely encased in the solenoid housing, no adjustment possible or necessary. The O-rings can get old and hard; although replacing them is not documented, it can be done. Normally you just replace the solenoid as a unit if there is any internal fault.

D-type (as used on earlier Spitfire) solenoids are completely different, they do need to be adjusted after the unit is serviced. But even there they should not need adjusting "from time to time" unless the adjustment slips (which it can).

Thanks Randall, I do have a 1962 TR4 that has th old style solenoid and I do have to reset I once in a great while. So looking at it from that side I am happy to say that I will just leave Spitfire OD alone and get on the road.
