When I've been outside, either round my house or out traveling around here in SW Ohio, I've noticed what seems like a lot more raptors than there have been. All the way from small falcon types to hawks to larger. I'm not by any means a bird expert, but I've seem groups of as many as 6-8 circling in and out of each other's path hunting. I guess they're adapting to the suburban landscape and close by countryside. Kind of cool seeing so many when the weather is nice.
 
Anything's possible, but the big ones have feathered heads where the buzzards I've seen in the past aren't. And they're not circling the same spot but moving around, may see them for a minute in one place then they change direction and move over another area. watched one slowly move out of sight over the trees in about 15 minutes one lunch. But as noted, I'm far from an expert on them.
 
In my area at the golf course if you see an Owl or Hawk you do not see any other birds. There are Read tail Hawk's here Northern Nevada
 
Here in New Jersey, I see Hawks, Falcons, Buzzards ect... and even bald eagles all the time. Saw my 1st bald eagle a few years ago and now I could see them daily, if I paid more attention. Lots more that 10 years ago.
 
They have said that there are 2-3 nesting bald eagle pairs in the general area along the Ohio River. Never been out specifically looking for them though.

Common for groups to circle inside thermals until the get the height they want then glide of to find the nearest kill.
