Just returned from a great day's competition at Goodwood, which was one event in this year's Healeysport Speed Championship. Sunny weather and a great time was had by all. To cap it off Steve Pike and his wife arrived driving NOJ 393 so we all flocked around to have a good look at the world's most famous and expensive Healey. Steve kindly let me sit in it for a photo. It's a fantastic restoration right down to the last detail and it is not 'over restored'. This car will be driven a lot by its new Swiss owner. On Tuesday the car will be track tested by Steve at Castle Coombe together with several other 100S' and a bunch of the UKs fastest racing Healeys. I'm hoping to get down to have a look at the fun. NOJ 393 had been airfreighted from Australia so it would be here in time for the European Healey Meeting in Scotland in two weeks time. That added another $16,000 to the cost!!!

It worked! Although I didn't get the text in the right place. The second photo shows me and Trish, who competes in a beautiful red BN7 with white hardtop, Webers etc,

Rick, the new owner is called Danny I believe. He's a Swiss banker. You'll notice in the photos that NOJ has a second small screen in front of the passenger. I nearly fell over when Steve said he had just fitted it the day before because his wife was going to be a passenger. It's screwed on! BUT the clever thing is that it uses holes that are already there, as the original tonneau cover was actually screwed to the shroud to stop it flapping and coming loose in the race. Two bonnet straps are fitted longitudinally rather than a single strap across the bonnet. The metal piece that the original cross type strap fits under still remains in place as it was at LeMans.

Smile as broad as the grille ;-)

Now you've really done it Derek....As if I wasn't jealous enough with you sitting in NOJ 393 at Goodwood. You have cute big Healey racers too.

I can't even get the men over here to come and and play on the track with me.....

Bloody marvelous Derek. I am totally envious. I can just picture you there, waving to Rich as he drives by overhead.
Keep smiling and do post more pictures.

Dougie. We also have two other ladies who compete with the group. One has a virtually stock BJ8, that she also drives to and from the events and the other has a fast 100, and she also competes in other classes in one of those screaming, single seat race cars powered by a Hyabusa engine. Scot, I think Rich would have loved to have participated in the rebuild of NOJ, and I'm sure he would have approved of the results.

Derek - Great photos!!! - the new owner, is he also the new owner of the items that were to be shown in the Healey Museum which was to be opened here in the US in Va? jim:driving:
