To get up early and stop off at the National Warplane Museum parking lot before work tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow is the Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix Festival, and that means there are gonna be sportscars of every description in the several rallies tomorrow, and crawling all over the place this weekend.
And I have the inside scoop.
The featured marque this year is Alfa Romeo. And the "Tour De Marque" ( the rally that is only for cars of the featured marque) always starts out from the Warplane. thus, the parking lot is gonna be jammed with Alfas tomorrow AM as they stage up for their rally.
I don't know if I can get there or not, but it would be really neat.

Oh, was going to say, I have the other half.

But, go! man go!

Sick day is outta the question. My boss at the Toyota dealer has a Superformance Cobra and is in the Knapp Vineyards rally. So he knows what's up. But I'm working 2 jobs today. I get out of the dealer at noon, then go the the Community College and teach a class. My boss over there has a MGTD, and since he dosen't have a class in the afternoon, hes going to Watkins too.(not to mention I don't have a sub, so that would be bad)
THEN..... I have a leadership seminar to attend at church tonight. My dad is the assistant pastor. he has a 69 MGB and is in the Glenora Run rally today as well. so If I'm absent from that I'm toast......
And I gotta work tomorrow at the dealer. And after taking tuesday morning off with an abscessed tooth, I've already kinda used up my time off.
It's just not meant to be this year...

By the way... The "other half" of my mind won out, and I didn't drag myself up early enough to go see the Alfas......

Ben, let me offer these as a consolation. The Alfa Club had their meet near me and the show was at a manor even closer. Someone said 180 Alfas attended. It was too hot for me to go, but my friend went to the show. He has the Gulietta (sp?) that won its class at the '66 Daytona FIA race.

Not an unashamed copy, but a liscensed copy built with permission from Alfa Romeo under the oversight of Donald Healey. 3 were built, one was wrecked. The engines are identical other than identification. Same finned exhaust manifold and everything.
