Spring tune up time, and I'm working on getting the Tunebug in as good a shape as I can. I'm sure I'm dealing with worn bits almost everywhere, but I'd like to keep driving around a bit while the new motor is being planned/rebuilt.
2 questions for setting the static timing--I've managed to get myself confused:
1. To rotate the engine, I put it in 4th gear and push the car. Which way should I be pushing the car to check where the points are opening/closing (with a test light hooked up)?
2. To retard the timing, which way do I rotate the dizzy?
Side question -- I seem to remember that for Bugeye H1 carbs the mixture nut goes out maybe 6-7 flats for a starting point, instead of the 12 listed in many manuals. Is this correct?
