Just got back from 2 lovely days in Champaign Il dropping the prodigal son off at college.
Old dorm, 4 floors ,no air conditioning, and he's on the top floor.
That was fun carrying all the stuff up there.
Sweated up a storm.
Gonna be 95 on Wed. He said he has never sweat so much at night before.
Get this...they say no wifi in the dorm. They have one cat3 outlet that they give you a small router and the appropriate cable for.
It don't work.
I told him, the he!! with that.
Wireless will arrive today for him.

You're next Darrell!!
 
And I should be on the way to the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new dorm at our college, but I just got home from spending the morning listening to all the startup speeches. I think I'll relax until the faculty mixer later. Here's hoping the wireless works for him! I'm surprised the college he's at is not more proactive about internet. It's such a basic tool anymore.
 
Something to do with the old dorm he is in.
They said it interferes with something.
When I left on Wed. I could already see 3 wireless signals on his wireless access tab.
I'm sure most of the other dorms have it.
I wish that was written into the dorm description when he sign up.
He wouldn't have signed up to a different dorm

I'm surprised they aren't more proactive about climate control....

They do have indoor plumbing, right?
 
My dorm had no A/C, but it did have a radiator in every room.
 
I changed the title right away but it didn't take.
In fact if you go back to my first post ,it is titled correctly
