I have completely lost what little mind I had.

After due consideration, I've taken over one of Tony's projects - the white BGT he was restoring for Jerri. She decided she didn't want it, so I've bought it.

In order to make this happen, I'm going to have to sell the TR8. Never thought I'd do it, but I really want to do this to keep some of Tony's passion alive. We have a '73 B roadster, so it'll be nice to have a "set".

The GT will have the modifications Tony planned - basically building it to look like an earlier model. And it'll get a transplant, most likely a V6 with just a bit of grunt added.

mickey, good on you brother!, going to make a very nice tribute to our friend tony, i know youll give us updates on the progress.

nice! good luck

Very nice Mickey! Glad you took over the project. If I had not just bought the TF, I would be contacting Tony's family on a couple items. But, I have too much money out now on this TF and much more to go. I hope all his stuff goes to deserving people. PJ

The MGB is more comfortable to drive than most Triumphs. Although not as "sporty", the MGB is a wonderful car to drive.

Nice looking car, Mickey. You're gonna love all that leg and arm room, and the nice, smooth ride.

One of the best touring cars, the BGT.

Please keep us posted with lotsa photos, Mickey!

It will be a tourer, for sure. V6, A/C, and plenty of insulation.

Good on you, Mickey. Enjoy the project, the connections with our dear friend will make it all the more special.

Way to go, and no DPO comments allowed.

TOO LATE!

Actually, having this car is going to be great on so many levels. My only wish is that I could keep the TR8!

You can keep it at my house

Man, you're too kind!

Can I count on you to foot the bill for finishing the GT, too?

Oh, and I don't think it'd fit "In a Boot"...

That's just plain cool Mickey. Keep us posted as you progress, I've always wanted to build a BGT as you describe so at least I'll enjoy a vicarious experience!
Roy

That is an old Doc line.

Yes, I can foot it after, I paint the BE and complete Nimrod restoration

Another LBC car at the house would make my neighbors crazy.

We definately want to hear updates. I see T's website is gone.

The updates will come, but they'll most likely be slow.

As for the website, we're looking into that. Stay tuned.

Well Mickey, It certainly has more class than a tr8. If that makes ya feel any better.

Mickey,

Welcome to the GT side of things. That car went
to the right person.I wish I could afford one of Tony's
cars right now.
I park our GT where I can see it out of the din-
ing room window.I love the lines of the car.It also seems
to work as a mini- station wagon.

Mickey, I can't even read this. When I saw it posted on the list server I was dis heartened. I know your doing it for a great reason but now I feel my car is not even worthy of me.

Don -

Lighten up, guy - it's all good! I do hate to lose the TR8. Never thought I'd sell, but then I'm always telling everyone else never to say never!

The TR8 is one fantastic ride, and that's a fact no matter what anyone says. Such a shame that it is looked down upon by so many who have no idea what they're talking about. Apples and oranges; classic case.
