Doc, I built a 700sq. foot area upstairs at the other end of the house and it is fully insulted with a solid core door.In fact it is louder outside the house. During the summer the neighbors must love it.
We do hear it downstairs but it is muffled. And I will say as time has past it is easier to listen to, if you know what I mean
