2 years ago today I drove home pulling a stock car trailer with my new TR. Huge grin on my face and a big knot in my stomach. Sat for 15 years. Managed to get it going before finding this forum. Now it runs better. Thank you everyone here. I just checked the shop, its ok. tee hee

Beautiful car, Sail !

The restoration was completed in two years?

Keep up the smile, Sail, and a job well done from the looks of it. It does my heart good to know others get a kick out of just setting in these cars. When I get over the happeness I get from driving my cars I'll be dust in someones eyes.

Ha ha ha ha. NO. All I did was the normal stuff you’d do with what I would call a 40 year old used car. Brakes (first,) hydraulics, anything rubber under the hood, motor mounts ( which explained the worrisome vibration,) carbs (in the living room,) water pump, generator, steering column, new 32 $ tires on original wires that I don’t trust but good enough till I go through it and can really drive it, and more that I can’t think of right now. Doesn’t sound like much but seemed like a lot. Also a new top and leather seats. (the only cosmetic things done or will be done till all mechanical stuff is gone thru.)
Not that much compared to what I see guys do here every day. In the last two years when something came on sale I picked it up. I have a bunch of stuff and am starting in the back and working my way forward. Too darn cold right now, been skiing. I want to trust it to drive anywhere. Right now we both trust each other a little. But I just checked again, its ok.

That's a beautiful looking TR4A. I would have a big simile on my face if it was my car, too!

Nick, thanks for the comments but if memory serves aren’t you forgetting a birthday?

Great picture, there, Sail. It actually exudes warmth in that corn field.
Lucky Triumph, to have found a loving caretaker. Thumbs up!

Great job Sail! It's got to feel great to know you did it, its yours and you can drive it. My thanks also to you for your participation on the greatest forum for us Triumph Nuts around the world.

Regards, Tinkerman

Congratulations - nice milestone. Nice when you have had a hand in it, no?

Yes. I very much enjoy the satisfaction of getting it going. On the other hand it is comforting knowing I have some backup here to get it going right, or at least righter than I could blind. Having done that and going down the road something goes plink, maybe I know what it is, hop out, adjust, hop in and warp speed again. Nothing can compare to driving these cars.

The car really looks great.
I hope you remember you wedding anniversary as easily as this one.
