A friend in the UK just sent me a DVD of the 1958 Alpine Rally! An unbelieveable amount of automotive eye-candy, Zagato-bodied Alfa Guilietta to name but one, and LBCs galore.

Narrow, unpaved roads, sheer unfenced drops, skinny tyres, NO HELMETS! NO SEAT BELTS!

Ohhhhh, mama! I am still drooling.
