No kidding about that. Been involved with a few of those plus other fashion related shoots and the amount of retouching is amazing.

Did you know that you can stretch the average womans legs about 20%, giving her legs like Heidi Klum, without making her look weird. Plus every headshot, on every magazine, gets a ton of treatment to the eyes. Of course they will go after crows feet and wrinkles but they also clean up the whites of the eye to make a person appear healthier and they will also enlarge the pupils to induce sexual arousal in the viewer. All very low key, nearly subliminal stuff.
