First Tony, now this. Just learned that this AM my mother's youngest brother has passed. This uncle was the only one to have joined the Air Force. One went Navy, other two an' me Ol' Fella were Army guys... his influence led me to USAF enlistment, even gave me his issue "Ike jacket" when I was in high school. Radio guy, post-war, Morse code! Of all those in that generation of my family, only two aunts remain. Soo sad.

The truly unfortunate part about getting along in years -- we get more of these sad events than we really want to have.

Sad to hear it, though, when it happens. My condolences to you and the family.

Don't forget to include the happy events as we grow older... kids get married, grand kids miraculously show up and we get to spoil them. We get to spend some quality time with our friends that retire too, and meet new friends here on this invention by Al G.(OK, just kidding about Al G.)
It's not all bad when you stop and think about it.

To doc... sorry about your uncle... that was one special generation!
 
Like my step father in law said at 100, all my friends are dead.

DOc...sorry for your loss...it is always sad for us mortals when we lose friends and family. When my mother passed away in September she was the last of that generation of the family...I looked at my brothers and sisters and said it's up to our generation to lead the path now....times like this remind me I need to participate in life more...take care.
 
You know what they say; the come in three's. Sorry to hear about that Doc. We know we're all gonna die one day, but it always takes us by suprise for some reason.

Even Bugs Bunny said, "No matter what you do in life, you never get out of it alive."

Just make sure you got-er-dun and the rest will take care of itself.

We all get that certain number of heartbeats. Uncle John had a good run.

...The Colonel on th' third hand, welll.... I consider that a cheat.
