After being on this forum a few years and looking at photos of Healey owners home restoration projects, its really funny how our garages seem to take on the same look...even the way we stack the body panels against the wall.. I just happened to check out Andys project from Auckland New Zealand and was struck that even though he is on the other side of the globe down under.....our garages look almost identical! It would be fun if other Healey restorers would post a few photos of there current and past garage projects as well to this new post.:hammer:

:cheers:Thanks for all the Great photos! I too have a large photo album I used to document the restoration, it was one of my main tools I used as a reference to guide me along. Yes your spot on! We are all part of the same fraternity no matter what part of the planet we live on.
 
Maybe if I put all 4 of the garages I use together I could come close to the sqft. most of you seem to have. I do most of my wrenching
(including r & r of the motor and trans) in my 1910, 20' x 15' detached garage built for a Model T. It does have heat and is well insulated, but every move most be played like a chase match.

Well Dougie...it's not the size of the garage, it's the size of the heart! I have always enjoyed your racing clips and been inspired by your obvious passion in motor sports. As I kid, I never had a garage and remember working on my cars out in the street along side the curb in the winter laying in the snow! I vowed someday I would have a big garage to build my motorcycles and cars. I am blessed enough to have all the room I need along with a micro wave, fridge, surround sound, heat and upstairs loft with big sky lights.As a kid, I never would have dreamed of such a thing!
 
I have a two car garage and an adjacent one car garage which is the Healey cave. I have been "developing" the two car garage for the last few years and it remains a work in progress

As for the one car garage I just recently did that. Some of you may remember that a number of us Yanks sent our cars over to the Scotland and toured the U.K. Well I was without the LBC for almost 5 months and I must have gotten a little bored and went after the little garage. I should get a life ;-). Here is a pic.:redface-new:

As much as I want a garage like this, it isn't mine. But the owner does let me hit things with a hammer occasionally.

I wish my garage looked like the ones posted on here.

I have a small single garage that doesnt even allow for the doors to be opened fully. Means I have to do most of my work out in the open and then rush back in during the frequest bouts of rain.

Gorgeous Dougie! It's safe to say, (none of) my garages will ever look that nice! I had envisioned putting up my (framed and unframed) posters in "the clean__attached__garage, but I'll never take the time to do it; at least as long as customer's cars keep coming in

That's probably a little closer to my style, but I'm not that bad! At least all the clutter in "the dirty__detached__garage" is car car & tool parts!

I'll go through and get some pictures together for this thread when I have time (an S-52 engine on a pallet is due to arrive any minute for the new M3 project) but I'll post ALL the garages my Healey has been in since I've owned it, restoration process and otherwise. There was even a period of time when the Healey had NO GARAGE at all! We, the Healey and I, have come a long way since then ;)


Here's a parting shot of the Healey in the clean garage (only littered with BMWs...) just a few days ago:

Holy crap man, another home lift! Mine comes with a handle and only goes up 18" when operated by hand :congratulatory:
 
Here's a picture of my garage taken only a few minutes ago. The snowblower is getting more use than the Healey these days...
