I do so love a horn section....

wow, That woke me up
A lost classic. JP, thanks for that

Saw them perform live when I was in college.

BS&T!!! Great for a Friday mornin' wake-up!

Thanks JP. BS&T is my absolute all time favorite band and that may be one of their best. On second thought, I can't pick a "best." And being an old horn player, I can appreciate your comment above. I saw them live twice when they when they came to Oklahoma City. Great showmen too. Interesting side note, Jerry Fischer took David Clayton Thomas' place after he left the band. Jerry had been arguably the best Oklahoma musician of the time. I got to play a couple of gigs with him when his regular sax man was not available.

David Clayton Thomas is a really interesting guy. Heard him interviewed one night and was talking about the BS&T "franchise" being worth 5 million dollars a year - as long as they didn't play new stuff. (BTW according to him there never really was a BS&T - just various musicians in various combinations) Anyways, he tells the story of his daughter calling him to dinner one night as he is recording in his home studio - he says "Just a minute honey I just need to save this track." Here answer, "why, no one is going to hear it." A REALLY interesting conversation about being an artist, and wanting to create because you are an artist but the world being only interested in who you were and not who you are or where you are going.

It's Sunday now, but still a great way to start the day.
